How To Audition

ConservatoryLogo_Temporary-02.jpg

Be a part of a professional musical theatre experience! Carrie: The Musical, will be produced by Capital City Theatre Conservatory. Students enrolled in the Find Your Light performance intensives will be auditioning to participate. You can be a part of this iconic show, plus receive on-the-job training that prepares you for the Big Stage! Schedules, rehearsal requirements, tech week, and performances will be in the same format and rigors of a professional, regional production. Work alongside directors, designers, choreographers, and stage managers, who will mentor performers through the entire process.

The Story

Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she's an outcast who's bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she's at the mercy of her loving but cruelly over-protective mother. But Carrie's just discovered she's got a special power, and if pushed too far, she's not afraid to use it… Carrie-The Musical is based on Stephen King's bestselling novel and film. The show's original authors have newly reworked and fully re-imagined this gripping tale for a new production that debuted Off-Broadway in 2012. The students in the Conservatory perform this musical on August 9-11, 2019.

Conservatory Production Requirements:

Step 1: You must be a current 2019 Find Your Light student or past FYL alumni - audition submissions happening now.

Step 2: Once you are accepted into the Find Your Light Program, you will be able to pay your tuition for the semester of performance intensive training.

Step 3: Audition for Carrie, The Musical, along with other Find Your Light class mates. Auditions for this Conservatory Production will be June 22nd and 23rd, time TBD.

Step 4: Once you are accepted as a cast member for Carrie, The Musical, the production training tuition is due. $200 - CURRENTLY enrolled FYL students, $300 - NON - currently enrolled FYL students. You only pay this additional fee for the production training if you are cast, as this is additional training on top of your Find Your Light performance training.
