Capital City Theatre announces auditions for its upcoming production of RENT

Auditions for Capital City Theatre’s production of RENT will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 12pm-7:30pm at the Capital City Theatre CORE, 6120 University Avenue, Middleton, WI. Additional auditions will take place on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 9am-5pm at the Chicago AEA building. We are also accepting video submissions through February 1, 2026.

Rehearsals will be held weekday afternoons/evenings (Tuesdays through Fridays) as well as Saturdays & Sundays from May 12 through June 5, 2026. Performances are on June 5-7, 2026 at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, WI.

Capital City Theatre is an SPT/LORT D professional musical theatre company using both Equity and Non-Equity contracts. Local Madison actors are strongly encouraged to attend/submit and all actors over 18 years of age (or out of high school) are paid.

Actors of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, body types, ages, as well as performers with disabilities are encouraged to audition.

Callbacks will be video submissions only.

What to Prepare**: Please bring a one-minute cut in the style of RENT with pages back-to-back in a 3-ring binder. An accompanist will be provided.

Online Submissions:  If you are interested in submitting online, please use the same parameters as above and have all submissions in by Sunday, February 1, 2026.

**Optional cuts required by Equity may be found HERE, but we encourage you to use your own cut that shows your unique character and personality.
