Capital City Theatre announces auditions for its 26-27 Season

Auditions for Capital City Theatre’s 26-27 season will take place on July 12, 2026 from 12pm-5pm at the Capital City Theatre CORE, 6120 University Avenue, Middleton, WI. We are also accepting video submissions through July 15, 2026.

Where We Are:
Rehearsals will be held weekday afternoons/evenings (Tuesdays through Fridays) as well as Saturdays & Sundays beginning September 1, 2026. Performances are September 17-20, 2026 at the Overture Center in Madison, WI. This is a new work, premiering as part of the World Premiere Wisconsin theatre festival. We are seeking excellent singers who are compelling musicians and storytellers.

It’s A Wonderful Life:
Rehearsals will be held weekday afternoons/evenings (Tuesdays through Fridays) as well as Saturdays & Sundays beginning October 26. Performances are on November 13-22, 2026 at the Mitby Theater in Madison, WI. Character breakdown can be found here.

All actors who audition will also be considered for the unannounced show in April 2027. Further auditions and callbacks to be conducted following the announcement, Fall of 2026.

Capital City Theatre is a professional musical theatre company operating under the AEA ITC Agreement and hiring both Equity and Non-Equity performers. Local Madison actors are strongly encouraged to attend/submit and all actors over 18 years of age (or out of high school) are paid.

Actors of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, body types, ages, as well as performers with disabilities are encouraged to audition.

Callbacks will be video submissions only.

What to Prepare**: Please bring a contemporary musical theatre cut no more than 90 seconds in length with pages back-to-back in a 3-ring binder. An accompanist will be provided.

Online Submissions:  If you are interested in submitting online, please use the same parameters as above and have your submission in by July 15, 2026.

**Optional cuts required by Equity may be found HERE, but we encourage you to use your own cut that shows your unique character and personality.
